Fire Resistant Paper

Fire Resistant Paper, Converted to Your Specification.

80 lb and 100 lb fire resistant paper, custom slit and rewound to the width, core, and roll size your spray booth or finishing line requires.

Product Overview

Built for Spray Booth and Finishing Environments

Fire Resistant Paper is specially treated to reduce continued burning and flame propagation compared with untreated paper. Flame-resistant performance is established by the paper manufacturer and supported by applicable test documentation.

Available in 80 lb and 100 lb, it maintains a clean, workable surface and is designed as a liner and masking material for spray booth and industrial finishing environments.

Manufacturers use it where flammable overspray accumulates on booth walls, floors, and fixtures — autobody refinishing and industrial painting operations, primarily — as a flame-resistant alternative to untreated paper.

Performance & Testing

Flame-Resistance Performance & Testing

Fire Resistant Paper is specially treated to reduce continued burning and flame propagation compared with untreated paper. Flame resistance does not mean the paper is noncombustible or fireproof.

The flame-resistant properties of the base paper are established and tested by the paper manufacturer. Paper Dimensions converts the manufacturer’s treated paper into the widths, roll sizes, cores, and packaging configurations required by our customers.

Applicable flame-resistance test documentation, including manufacturer certifications or Certificates of Analysis/Conformance, is available upon request. Where applicable, documentation may include testing in accordance with TAPPI T 461, Flame Resistance of Treated Paper and Paperboard, including reported flame time, glow time, and char length.

Performance characteristics and suitability should be evaluated for the customer’s specific application.

Common Fire Resistant Paper Questions

What is Fire Resistant Paper?

Fire Resistant Paper is specially treated paper designed to reduce continued burning and flame propagation compared with untreated paper. Paper Dimensions supplies 80 lb and 100 lb grades for applications including spray booth liners, masking, and industrial finishing environments.

The flame-resistant properties are established by the paper manufacturer and supported by applicable test documentation. Paper Dimensions converts the treated paper to the width, roll size, core, and packaging specifications required by the customer.

Fire resistant does not mean fireproof or noncombustible. Contact us for technical specifications and available manufacturer test documentation for the specific grade.

Is Fire Resistant Paper fireproof?

No. Fire resistant does not mean fireproof or noncombustible. The paper is treated to provide improved flame-resistance characteristics compared with untreated paper under specified test conditions. Performance depends on the particular grade, treatment, application, and conditions of use.

Manufacturer technical data and available flame-resistance test documentation can be provided upon request.

Can Fire Resistant Paper be slit to a custom width?

Yes. Fire Resistant Paper is converted on the same precision equipment used across our paper slitting capability, to the width your spray booth or finishing line requires.

Can Fire Resistant Paper be rewound to a specific roll size?

Yes. If your equipment needs a specific core size, roll diameter, or roll length, we can rewind Fire Resistant Paper to that specification as part of our paper rewinding capability.

What information is needed for a Fire Resistant Paper quote?

Your required weight (80 lb or 100 lb), width, roll diameter and core size, quantity, and packaging requirements. Our quote form walks through each of these.
